National League crowds are the biggest yet

Over 52,000 fans are keeping the Saturday turnstiles busy at the grounds of the National League’s three divisions with Leyton Orient pulling the biggest crowds (5,186) followed by Wrexham (5,181) and then Chesterfield (4,526).

National League Chief Executive Michael Tattersall said: “We are delighted to have reached a total of more than 50,000 for the fixtures [this weekend]. It shows further evidence of the level and importance of fan engagement our clubs are providing their supporters.

“Attendances across the competition have been very encouraging for the 2018-19 season. Having seen increases to year-on-year attendances for the previous four consecutive seasons, we are confident of adding a fifth at the conclusion of the current campaign.”
