ANNOUNCING THE HOST OF THE 2010 AWARDS. IT’S...
Steve Rider is one of the most familiar sports presenters
and journalist on British television
No stranger to winning himself - he’s a three time
sports BAFTA
winner and has twice been named sports
presenter of the year -
the Club Awards panel is
delighted that Steve has accepted the
invitation to host
the Awards on November 10. Publisher Sean Ferris
explains why.
“Sport is a pivotal element of club life - whether
watching it or playing it -
and we wanted to reflect this
with a high profile, sports-focused
personaility,” says
Sean. “Steve is exactly that person.”
Encouraging sports at all levels and in all fields is important to us as a nation for all sorts of reasons - from better health to team spirit to national pride (a little dampened at the moment perhaps but it’s still there!).
“Clubs drive all of this and should be applauded - which, of course, is exactly what will happen at the Club Awards in November,” says Sean. “Sport apart, there are a myriad of ways in which clubs contribute to making lives more enjoyable. Our clubs in all their guises - from sports clubs and social clubs to political clubs and working men’s clubs - are all hubs of activity and an integral part of the fabric of our communities. I for one am proud to be a part of this social network.”
